Founder · Tope Creative

The short version

I've run marketing from the inside — as the VP of Marketing and CMO who owned the number, the plan and the team — across retail, apparel, outdoor and homebuilding.

That's a different résumé than most agencies bring to a first call. I've hired the roles, defended the budget, killed the campaign that wasn't working, and had to explain all of it to a board. When I recommend something now, it's because I've had to live with the version of that decision that didn't work.

I started Tope Creative because the companies I most wanted to help couldn't hire someone like me full time — and the alternative on offer was usually a specialist agency solving a tenth of the problem, or a generalist freelancer solving none of it.

So the studio stays small on purpose, and so does the client list — I take on only a few engagements at a time, because the level of attention I'm selling isn't possible at volume. I do the strategy and the craft — the plan and the photography, the positioning and the site that carries it. When a project needs more hands, I bring in people I've worked with before and I stay accountable for the result.
